Encountering Caves

Where's the cave? The cave entrance can be found to the south of the End of the Road.
How do I get in? To enter the cave, you'll need to unlock the entrance grate. A set of keys can be found in the Small Building east of the End of the Road.

Dealing With Darkness

How do I get through the dark Debris Room? To continue, you'll need a light source. A lamp can be found in the Small Building east of the End of the Road.

Befriending Birds

How can I catch the bird? You'll need something to keep the bird in. A wicker cage can be found in Cobble Crawl.

Other Stuff

What're the food, small bottle, rod and bird for? These items are puzzle elements from the full game and are not used in the Colossal Cave Adventure - Icicle Edition demo.
Why is the brid nervous? In the original Adventure, the player is unable to catch the bird if they are carrying the rod. Since Icicle has no "drop" action, we decided to have the rod be automatically dropped and retrieved as part of the act of catching the bird.
What's up with the massive hole? The massive hole is a reference to the Xanadu sequence from Act III of Cardboard Computer's episodic point and click adventure game Kentucky Route Zero. The Xanadu sequence in Kentucky Route Zero itself contains many references to Adventure.
What's up with the granola bars? The "Nice" brand is a reference to the granola bars in Campo Santo's 2016 first person adventure game Firewatch.
